Macquarie ICT Innovations Centre (MACICT) is located at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. It is a collaborative agreement negotiated in 2002 between the NSW Department of Education (DET) and Macquarie University to provide local schools with access to innovative technologies. Later, the catchment expanded to include all schools in Northern Sydney Region but now proudly services every DET school in NSW. Our mission is: 'to develop, implement and evaluate innovative ways of enhancing learning through the application of dynamic and emerging information and communication technologies.' The Centre’s focus reflects a project-based approach to working with teachers and their students. The Centre’s core business includes a comprehensive teacher professional learning and support program where MACICT staff and school teachers develop projects that are curriculum-based and meet the individual needs of the teachers and their classes, ensuring that our services remain relevant to all NSW DET schools across the state. This website will inform others about the types of projects we are developing, the opportunities and services we can offer to schools and teachers and the courses available through our Centre Find out more about our projects and online registration in courses across the state through the navigation bar. Our Community is MacICT on Me.edu.au NSR Courses RegistrationOne of the Centre's services to teachers is the online registration tool which allows teachers to select and register for any professional learning course being offered by the Northern Sydney Region in an online environment. Now, teachers can use the link from this website to access this course information. In particular, we encourage teachers to apply for courses in the ICT for Teaching and Learning category. All the Centre's courses are available here and an email confirmation will be sent soon after application. To see our courses, go to the NSR Courses Registration tab at the top left hand side of this website. You must be inside a school to access this link, as it is an intranet only service available to DET schools. |
